Research Interests
Dr. Adera’s major research interests include designing, conducting and analyzing epidemiological studies of hearing loss in occupational and school settings. Effect of minimal hearing and vision loss on academic performance in underserved school children; effect of chemicals and noise on occupational hearing loss; developing methods for evaluating hearing loss prevention programs. Other areas of research include effect of statin drugs on bone mineral density, risk factors for osteoporosis, hypercholesterolemia and coronary heart disease in the elderly, oral contraceptive use and abortion as risk factors for breast cancer, risk factors for low back pain and premenstrual syndrome.
