Master of Public Health Program

Requirements for Graduation


Below are the requirements for graduation from the Master of Public Health Program, depending on whether the student registered in the (current) 45-credit-hour program or the (previous) 36-credit-hour program.

45-Credit-Hour Program (students who matriculated Fall 2005 or later)

  1. 45 credit hours of MPH Program courses, to include:
    a. 21 credit hours of core courses
    • BIOS 543, Statistical Methods I
    • EPID 571, Epidemiology I
    • EPID 600, Introduction to Public Health
    • EPID 602, Public Health Organization and Management
    • EPID 604, Principles of Environmental and Occupational Health
    • EPID 605, Epidemiology of Health Behaviors
    • EPID 691, MPH Program Research Project
    b. The requisite number of credit hours of track-required courses (9-12 hours, depending on track) and elective courses (12-15, depending on track)

  2. Attendance at 6 public health seminars or other approved public health-related presentations (the Department sponsors 3 seminars per semester in the Fall and Spring semesters).
