The beauty of the VCU doctoral program in epidemiology is that there are numerous research faculty throughout the University who are interested in working with epidemiology doctoral students. Within the Department of Epidemiology and Community Health, research interests include :
- Youth violence prevention
- Women’s health and domestic violence
- Cancer prevention,
- Substance abuse
- Hearing loss and
- Nutrition.
However, additional research topics that have faculty interest and support include such things as:
- Sickle cell anemia,
- Breast cancer,
- HIV/AIDS,
- Hospital epidemiology and
- Infectious diseases.
