2009 MPH Program New Student Orientation
There are three levels of orientation to VCU: Graduate School, School of Medicine, and MPH Program, (plus a mandatory orientation for International Students). The orientation sessions have been designed to familiarize you with the campus, to help you understand the resources available, and to provide opportunities to interact with incoming students, faculty and staff. The orientation sessions will also provide important information on your department, work-study and career opportunities.
During orientation for the Department of Epidemiology & Community Health, all students will register for courses. Upon registration finalization (through e-services) students may request a semester parking permit and/or GRTC bus pass directly through parking services. These items are not available until students are officially registered in classes at VCU.MANDATORY ORIENTATION SESSIONS

Each fall, the Graduate School sponsors a university-wide orientation to introduce new graduate students to VCU and the city of Richmond. The Graduate School orientation session is not mandatory, but you may find it helpful to attend to learn more about Graduate School policies as well as resources available university-wide for graduate students. Since the Graduate School orientation is optional, students with pre-existing plans (e.g., vacation, work) should not feel obligated to change those plans to attend this particular orientation. However, students should have working knowledge of the topics covered in this session. Therefore, if you are unable to attend this orientation, please visit the “New Student Resources” Web site.
Questions regarding orientation should be directed to Lori A. Floyd-Miller at (804) 828-2233 or e-mail.
