Journal Club

The primary purpose of the journal club is to learn more about a broad spectrum of topic areas in epidemiology as well as epidemiologic methods.  Journal club serves as a time for students to develop and practice skills in critically reviewing literature in epidemiology.  Each week students will discuss 1-3 articles that were published in recent years.  Students are required to read the assigned articles and participate actively in class discussions.  It is hoped that students will benefit from the comments and insights of others.  Through this process students will learn to identify the qualities of effective scientific writing, to interpret scientific findings, and to understand and critique the methodological choices that must be made as part of any study.

Journal club is required for all doctoral students.  Interested MPH students should contact Dr. Yi Ning for permission to participate.
